CRU Hungary grows student leaders

CRU Hungary grows student leaders

From Luke Stannard: CRU Budapest, Hungary

“All of my classmates know that I am passionate about God and the Bible and that they can and do come to me with questions related to both.”

“One of my classmates recently had a question about who God is and I was able to answer them.”

“One of the highlights of this year was getting to engage in spiritual conversations with two of my classmates.”

These are just some of the statements that our student leaders in Pecs recently said in review of this past year. One of our biggest joys has been watching God transform them from those simply following God to those passionate about following God. We have seen God do amazing things in and through them!

Student Outreach:

Our recent outreach in Pecs was a great illustration of that. The student leaders desired to launch an initiative at their school. After much prayer and planning, they got permission to use a chapel period to do an apologetic Q&A. The event itself went very well and Luke had the chance to share the reasonableness of our faith in God. However, the true highlight came in the following weeks. Each student shared about conversations with friends and classmates that flowed from the event and they were able to lead to the Gospel. How exciting to see students taking this initiative!

Family Update:

This last month was filled with fun, chaos, and lots of milestones. We enjoyed a trip to Geneva for marathon #9 and visiting one of the places God used to launch the Reformation. Michelle successfully wrapped up her first year of intense language immersion and is understanding much more and holding conversations. Luke, on last second notice, was asked to preach his first sermon—in Hungarian no less. God used this to open more doors and opportunities for the future. We have managed to tackle many of the major renovation projects that were on hold. Our home study is on the verge of completion which will move us into eligibility for a child referral as well as grant applications and trusting God.

“He is the One you praise; He is your God, who preformed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes.” Deuteronomy 10:21

He indeed is the Awesome One and the One we praise! God richly blessed this past year and we are so thankful for all the mountaintops and the valleys that He led us through. Thank you so much for your faithful partnership with us! God is reaching Hungary through you!
